The drive from Italy to Austria was a beautiful one. Our cars wound through lush, green hills speckled with chalets. Our destination was the quaint town of Innsbruck, which my mom suggested for the itinerary having visited it before on a college trip. She remembered it being a very cute town, which is exactly what it is.
We stayed at none other than the Best Western in Innsbruck, which actually turned out to be quite nice. It had, what I'm calling, the "Alps aesthetic" on the outside of the building and in the hallway decor. The bedrooms, however, had modern furnishings. Nico's and my room had a window with an awesome view of the mountains.
Since we got in a little on the later side, we just went out that first night for some beers and awful tasting desserts.
The next day, we walked around town and took in the pretty sites. The river that ran through town was gray with dirt that had probably washed in from the rain. We visited a garden and played giant chess. Nico and I goofed around at a park. We had lunch then continued on our journey to Munich!
